GENERAL SAFETY
The general safety of the student and school users is fundamental to the smooth running of the institution. Consequently, the school has a permanent CLINIC with trained medical personnel stationed in the clinic to address any incident or crisis which may occur.
However, parents are urged to play a vital role in cautioning children to maintain acceptable behavior whilst in school. Careless use of dangerous objects, running without supervision and engaging in dangerous games etc can easily result in an injury. The school, however, considers certain behavioral patters as disciplinary issues (i.e. carrying of dangerous objects, indulging in dangerous play in class or during breaks)
IMMUNIZATIONS
As Parents, it is necessary to make sure that each childs immunization records are up-to-date. The minimum immunizations required of students by the Ministry of Health are required for school attendance. If the student’s records are not up to date, then that student may attend school for a period of ninety (90) school days if he/she has at least one dose of each of the required vaccines and if parents have a plan from a physician in order to complete the immunizations during the ninety days. Law prohibits students who have not received the required immunizations from attending school
MEDICATION
NO MEDICATION SHOULD BE SENT TO THE SCHOOL WITH A CHILD. The parent or guardian should bring the medication to the school in person and sign the required consent form. Under no circumstances may a student keep medication by him or herself
The school is not permitted to administer medication to a child without the required form of consent, signed by the child's parent or guardian. If he/she needs to take medicine, then all prescribed medicines must be brought to school in the original containers and must be left in the office
WHEN MEDICATION IS TO BE ADMINISTERED FOR MORE THAN TEN DAYS, A PHYSICIAN'S PRESCRIPTION IS ALSO REQUIRED
No student will be allowed to engage in any behavior that is not in his /her best interest or in the best interests of others. Al-Ansar Disciplinary Code SHALL BE FULLY IMPLEMENTED so as to maintain a high sense of moral value and decorum at the school.
